Wishbone Yarns are dyed in small batches of ten to fifteen. Please make sure that you purchase enough yarn for your project, as even repeatable colour ways differ from batch to batch. All yarn is dyed utilising African rain water which we gather in large tanks in our garden. The Western Cape of South Africa is in the grips of a devastating drought. I do all I possibly can to minimise the waste of water – dye baths are exhausted completely and the water is used over again. Wishbone yarns are rinsed in Bio-degradable, organic Castile soap and this water is then used to sustain our small vegetable garden.
As I care deeply about the environment and the footprint we leave, I am phasing out the standard padded envelope and using recyclable, biodegradable packaging.
I ship locally via PostNet and globally via registered SAPO airmail – a tracking number will be supplied after shipping. Please be aware that for this service, I can only provide tracking until the item leaves South Africa. Overseas mail has slowed down considerably and registered airmail parcels can take anything from 4-8 weeks. Over peak times, like Christmas, parcels have been known to take longer still.
Expedited Mail (EMS) is available for parcels larger than 1kg. This service has full tracking and parcels take between 2-4 weeks to arrive. Please note that EMS delivers to residential or business addresses only, NOT TO POST BOXES.
Please double check your address and shipping method before paying.
All parcels are sent with a CN 22 customs form attached. Wishbone Yarn does not accept responsibility if a parcel is returned to South Africa due to non-delivery. However, I will repackage your parcel and resend it once postage has been paid in full. This offer is valid for three weeks from date of notification – if not settled, contents will be donated to a worthy cause.
Parcels are dispatched once a week, days vary according to volume.
For South African customers – payment is via trusted payment gateway PayFast – either by credit card or debit card, or instant EFT.
For overseas customers, trusted payment gateway PayFast also accepts international credit cards, although the amount will appear as ZAR (South African Rands). Please check the currency conversion before checkout.
PayFast has recommended the latest version of Google Chrome as the safest internet browser. (Firefox after that and Safari not recommended at all)
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Since the end of 2019, international rules regarding credit card payments to South Africa have changed – if your PayFast payment will not go through, it is necessary to phone your Credit Card Company and give a once-off verbal authorisation for payment.
Wishbone does not offer a lay-bye service, nor are exchanges possible after purchase. Multiple orders can be consolidated, but refunds on shipping are not possible. Please note that SALE yarns are sold without labels – the packing list is supplied for colour reference, please refer to Ravelry or the website for composition and yardage.
